POSITION SUMMARY The IT Systems Specialist provides day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of the company's technology environment, ensuring system reliability, data integrity, and user productivity. This role combines infrastructure and network management with moderate SQL database support, Microsoft 365 administration, and user assistance for core business systems such as Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain (D365). It is ideal for a hands-on IT professional who is comfortable managing servers, networks, SQL databases, and user systems in a manufacturing setting. REQUIRED RESPONSIBILITIES: Systems & Network Administration Provide Tier 1–2 support for end users (hardware, software, printers, connectivity). Maintain network infrastructure (firewalls, switches, VLANs, Wi-Fi, VPN). Manage Windows Desktop and Server environments, Active Directory, and Group Policies. Administer Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, security groups). Maintain virtual computing environment. Oversee system backups, patch management, antivirus, and endpoint protection. Coordinate with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) for advanced issues. SQL & Data Administration Monitor and maintain company SQL databases supporting D365, Power BI, and internal tools. Perform regular database backups, restores, and indexing for performance optimization. Write or edit moderate T-SQL queries and stored procedures for troubleshooting and reporting. Assist with data migrations, imports, and integration jobs. Work with Finance & Systems leadership to ensure data reliability and security. IT Operations & Projects Maintain IT asset inventory, licensing, and warranty tracking. Support facility technology (security cameras, badge access, time clocks, label printers). Document IT systems, procedures, and recovery processes. Participate in infrastructure upgrades and system improvement projects. Support connectivity and operation of manufacturing systems and software. Coordinate with vendors to ensure secure and reliable operation. Additional job duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 4-years work experience in IT support or systems administration. Experience with Windows Desktop and Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 administration. Working knowledge of SQL Server (backups, performance tuning, and query writing). Understanding of D365 or other ERP system integrations preferred. Working knowledge of a virtual infrastructure platform (VMWare, Hyper-V, Citrix, Nutanix). Strong network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs). Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills. Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, MCSA, or SQL-related credentials are a plus. Must be able to handle confidential information in an appropriate manner. Excellent written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
